The most important currency during the Diablo 4 Midwinter Blight event is the Midwinter Proof. These small bells given out in the square are what you need to upgrade the event location and earn some special gear, which I can help with.
Diablo 4: How to Earn Midwinter Proofs
To get Midwinter Proofs, you need to exchange 300 Blighted Fragments, 30 Lost Heirlooms, or one Red-Cloaked Tropy at the Kyovashad exchange table. If you head to Kyovashad during the Midwinter Blight event, you can find Gileon the Bard near the town center. Just south of him is the Midwinter Proof Exchange table where you can bring your items.
There is no way to earn the proofs out in the open world around Fractured Peaks. Any time you enter the MidwinteR Blight zone, you can kill Blightfiend enemies that will drop Blighted Fragments. Destroying their Frigid Husks will also give you a small number of Lost Heirlooms, which are rarer. Then, you can take these items back to the Midwinter Square in Kyovashad.
How to Get Midwinter Proofs:
- Collect 300 Blighted Fragments, 30 Lost Heirlooms, or 1 Red-Cloaked Trophy.
- Go back to Kyovashad and the Midwinter Square.
- Turn the items in at the Midwinter Proof Exchange below Gileon.
Earning Midwinter Proofs is much more of a grind than it is a challenge. Earning 300 Blighted Fragments to exchange for a proof will likely take you about 10 minutes or less. But to unlock many of the holiday weapons, you’re going to need 50 Midwinter Proofs at a time in Diablo 4. So get ready to turn your brain off and start taking down Blightfiends.
Getting a Red-Cloaked Trophy from the new boss will be the quickest way to exchange for a Midwinter Proof if you can find him. It only takes one trophy to get the tiny bell. However, finding him in the Fractured Peaks can be random until you upgrade more of the Midwinter Square and your tribute rank.
If you’re just starting the event, make sure to start collecting Blighted Fragments in the right areas.
