Palworld players can unlock the Lockpicking Tool by spending one Ancient Technology Point at level 16 from the Technology menu. This is the first version of the item and the earliest players can get it.

The level two version can be unlocked at level 28 for two Ancient Technology Points and the final version at level 51 for three Ancient Technology Points. The Sakurajima update had added an extra five levels to the game, so players can now max out at level 55.

The Lockpicking Tool allows players to open any chest without needing a consumable key, usually found while exploring the world. The tool does have a chance to fail, but upgrading it to later versions gives it a higher chance of success.

All versions of the Lockpicking Tool can be crafted at the Production Assembly Line II machine, unlocked at level 42. Here are all of the requirements to craft each Lockpicking Tool:

  • Lockpicking Tool v1
    • 10 Ingot
    • 10 Paldium Fragment
    • Five Nail
  • Lockpicking Tool v2
    • 20 Ingot

    • 10 Nail
  • Lockpicking Tool v3
