The most recent 1.20 update for the legendary Minecraft successfully updated the old legendary blocky game with a slew of new objects. Some of the new tools introduce new mechanics into the game, while others, like the recently added Decorated Pots, are simply there for increasing the aesthetics! We know you want them because they are new! They serve no purpose but kinda look cool, so yeah – let’s learn how to make those brand-new Decorated Pots in Minecraft 1.20 and make your home base a little bit more classy!
How to Make Decorated Pots in Minecraft 1.20
Update 1.20 is all about archeology! Now it is possible to explore suspicious sands and with the new tool – a Brush Tool, find hidden treasures that include Pottery Shards. When you collect four Pottery Shards, you can combine them into a brand new Decorated Pot – which you can then place anywhere you like as a decoration, but in order to get there, follow the checklist below:
- Create the Brush by combining Feather, Copper Ignot, and a Stick (stack them on top of each other).
- Use Brush on the Suspicious Sand Blocks for a chance to get a Pottery Shard.
- Combine Pottery Shards x4 at the Crafting Table to create a Decorated pot (place them as in the image below).

Notice how each Pottery Shard has a different symbol on it, each of those symbols will be visible on one of four sides of the Decorated Pot, so by choosing shards with a certain design, you can create the look of your Decorated Pot yourself by using all the same symbols or mixing different ones as you like. Be creative, yo!
