How to Farm Crude Oil in Palworld

There are a few ways to get Crude Oil in Palworld. The main method to get Crude Oil is to extract it from the environment, though it is not as easy as simply picking it up off the ground or mining it.

Crude Oil patches can be found on the new Sakurajima Island alongside snowier regions, so players should search around the northern section of the island for it. The only way to extract from these Crude Oil patches is by building an Oil Extractor.

The Oil Extractor can be unlocked at level 50 for two Technology Points. It will then require 250 Pal Metal Ingot and 50 Circuit Boards to build. This machine alone can get the oil from the ground by building the machine directly on the patch.

Players will also need to build a base and a Power Generator for the Oil Extractor to work. The Power Generator requires an electric Pal to continue outputting power, and you will need to build a small base to set up and automate this operation.

Crude Oil can also drop from some Pals or in random supply drops on Sakurajima Island that fall from the sky. The last method is to visit the Oil Refinery on the eastern side of the world, closest to the Marsh Island fast travel point, but is a high-level area with anti-air lasers that will shoot you out of the sky. Players will have to be severely geared up to attempt this raid.

Crude Oil can be used for the high-end material Plasteel, which is necessary for other late game gear. It can also be used for certain explosives ammo, such as Frag Grenades, Flamethrower Fuel, and Missile Ammo.
