Time to grind out those raids

Destiny 2 is on the cusp of welcoming its newest expansion, Lightfall, and with this new installment comes big changes. How to Get Cataclysmic in Destiny 2

Linear fusion rifles have always ebbed and flowed when it comes to use, but the legendary Cataclysmic has remained a mainstay in many Guardian’s loadouts. But getting it is far from easy.

Cataclysmic is exclusive to the Vow of the Disciple Raid, which was released during the Witch Queen expansion. That means you’ll need to own this expansion to access the raid, but because it’s the latest raid Destiny’s released, you won’t have to wait for it to be on rotation. Just head to Savathun’s Throne World and select it from the map.

Fortunately, you’ll only need to complete the first encounter, Acquisition, to get a chance to get Cataclysmic. And so long as you have a good raid team, this isn’t the worst encounter to farm. But even if you complete it, there’s no guarantee that Cataclysmic will drop from the encounter chest. Cataclysmic is one of six possible drops.

If you don’t get it this round, continue into the next encounter, Caretaker. There’s a chance of Cataclysmic dropping from this chest too, but it’s one in seven. If you fail to get it on this character, switch out to one of your others and run through Acquisition and Caretaker again. With luck, it’ll drop!

But once you have it, what’s the best roll for it?

Cataclysmic is a fantastic PvE gun and middling PvP gun, and the best perks for it reflect that.
