How to Get Bloodmarked in Diablo 4

The field of imbalance

Whether you want to decimate enemy players in the Fields of Hatred or you just want to complete a Seasonal quest, becoming Bloodmarked is part of the Diablo 4 PvP experience. I will go over how to mark yourself and what the effect does in this guide.

How to Become Bloodmarked in Diablo 4

Within the Fields of Hatred zone, open up your Emote wheel and scroll to the skull symbol on the bottom of the wheel to become Bloodmarked. Two areas in Diablo 4 are labeled as the Fields of Hatred. Both zones are meant for player-versus-player gameplay, so you have to be within either zone before you can initiate the mark.

Once you enter the Fields of Hatred, you have the option to see the Bloodmarked status on your emote wheel. Anyone can turn the effect on or off, regardless of level. However, you want to be very careful about using it. As soon as you become Bloodmarked in the Fields of Hatred, you are open to attacks from other players.

Getting Bloodmarked in Diablo 4:

  • Enter the Fields of Hatred in the Dry Steppes or Kehjistan.
  • Open up the emote wheel by holding up on the d-pad.
  • Select the skull icon at the bottom.
  • You are now marked.

Even if you are in the Fields of Hatred and you aren’t marked, engaging in enough combat with other players will turn on the effect. But activating the mark yourself will make it so you can instantly attack other players. When you kill them, you earn farm more Seeds of Hatred as a reward for the risk involved with fighting.

If you’re here for the Seasonal quest in Diablo 4, which is to defeat monsters while Bloodmarked in Hostile areas, then you don’t need to fight other players. Simply turn on the mark in the Fields of Hatred and kill any of the enemies you see around you. After killing at least 100 monsters, the quest is complete.

While you’re in the fields, you might find an ear or two from another player who tried their luck.
