Attributes give Civilization 7 an RPG element where players allocate points in a tree, heavily impacting different aspects of the game. These points may solve your deepest problems, but you must allocate these attributes wisely since they are limited. Here’s how to get attribute points in Civilization 7.
How to Acquire Attribute Points in Civilization 7

Attributes fall under six categories: Cultural, Diplomatic, Economic, Expansionist, Militaristic, and Scientific. Each Attribute Point earned will fall under one of these categories. You’ll gain attribute points by finishing specific actions from a category. Most of these tasks fall under the Legacy Paths, accessed through the Age Progress screen.
Finishing objectives like Non Sufficit Orbis from the Military Legacy Path should give you +1 Militaristic Attribute Point when you reach the first milestone reward. Culture Legacy Paths like converting other settlements to your religion would give you +1 Cultural Attribute Points. Finishing the Legacy Path on all categories is the best way to get Attribute Points. Some objectives award multiple Attribute Points or something else along with Attribute Points.
However, you’ll also gain Attribute Points naturally as you progress through the ages. Every leader gains 3 points through Narrative Events. These Narrative Events occur at each age on the 25th turn of the age (at standard speed).
Apart from the free Attribute Points from the Leader, you’ll also get some Attribute Points from completed wonders, victory rewards, and more narrative events as you progress in your playthrough.

How to Open the Leader Attribute Tree in Civilization 7

To open the Attribute Skill Tree, look for your leader’s icon next to all the leaders in your playthrough. Click your leader’s icon and it’ll take you to your leader’s page. There’s a big “Attributes” button on the lower-right corner of your screen.
The Leader Attribute window shows all types of attributes, including all the points you can path to. It also shows the “Wildcard Points” you have remaining. These Wildcard Points come from the Narrative Events, which are basically Attribute Points allocated to any category.
It is best to look at all the useful points to achieve your goals and try to finish Legacy Path objectives to gain points in those categories.
Can You Respec Attribute Points in Civilization 7?
Attribute Points are permanent and may not be reallocated. Choose wisely before making a decision. This is why it is important that you are aware of almost every facet of the game and focus on areas where you have an advantage. These allocated attribute points only change when you reset or start a new game.
