Where to Find Argon in Starfield

There are two main ways to get argon in Starfield:

  • Buy from stores in major settlements
  • Mine from planets containing the resource

A go-to method for obtaining materials quickly and in bulk is to purchase them from shops like Jemison Mercantile in New Atlantis. In the store’s resource section, you’ll find various organic, inorganic, and manufactured resources, including argon, ready for you to buy. If you don’t see it, waiting for 24 in-game hours and revisiting the store will show a refreshed shop list with randomized items and quantities available for you to browse.

If you prefer saving money, you can travel to different planets and harvest resources using your cutter or an extractor. Early in your playthrough, you’ll land in the Alpha Centauri system, with planets like Jemison and Chawla having argon as one of their available resources. While you can also find some on other planets, these are two good starting locations if you want to start farming early.

What is Argon Used for in Starfield?

Argon is a common inorganic resource occasionally encountered while browsing research projects. The first time I saw it was with Performance Enhancement I, later appearing in a Pharma Lab Amp recipe.

If you want a consumable that boosts movement speed and jump height, you’ll want to gather some argon and invest in this project ASAP.
