The last bird you likely expected to see in the pits of Corel Prison is here, and it’s up to Cloud to give him back up to snuff. Here’s how to find all the Chocobo Sylkis Greens in Corel Prison in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
How to Find All Sylkis Greens in Corel Prison in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (FF7)
Corel Prison is a place where money talks. And to stop your friends from winding up the victims of trafficking and save Barret from a desert prison, Cloud’s going to have to have to make a lot of Gil fast through Chocobo Racing. Que Piko and Sam, who’ve also found themselves trapped in Corel Prison. To get Piko back up to snuff, you’ll need two to three Sylkis Greens. Two will make Piko rideable, but three will put Piko back in great condition.
To get all three Sylkis Greens, you’ll need to accomplish the following three objectives:
- Defeat the three Queen’s Blood Players in the Card Casino.
- Score Rank I in Desert Rush.
- Visit the Bartender’s Garden.
Defeat the Queens’ Blood Players in The Card Casino in Corbel Prison in FF7 Rebirth
For players neglecting their Queen’s Blood deck, defeating the three players in the Card Casino might be the toughest challenge in Corel Prison. Each of these players is Rank 6 and has advanced decks that will be difficult to tear down with just default cards. Fortunately, you can purchase booster packs from the House of Cards shop.
A deck I recommend is:
Card | Card Ability | How to Obtain |
Grassland Wolf | No card ability | Default deck |
Levrikon | No card ability | Default deck |
Security Officer | No card ability | Default deck |
Mu | Raise the power of allied cards on affected tiles by 1 while this card is in play. | Default deck |
Crystalline Crab | Raises the power of allied cards on affected tiles by 2 while this card is in play. | Default deck |
Mandragora | When played, add Mandragora Minion to your hand. | Ruffians Booster Pack |
Ignilisk | Raise the power of allied cards on affected tiles by 2 while this card is in play. | Shut Up ‘n’ Drive Booster Pack |
Or, for players who want a slightly more advanced deck:
Card | Card Ability | How to Obtain |
Security Officer | No card abilities | Default deck |
Levrikon | No card abilities | Default deck |
Grassland Wolf | No card abilities | Default deck |
Cactuar | Raise the power of allied cards on affected tiles by 3 while this card is in play. | Beating Nene (not necessary, functions similar to Ignilisk and Mu) |
Crystalline Crab | Raise the power of allied cards on affected tiles by 2 while this card is in play. | Default deck |
Chocobo & Moogle | Raise power by 1 for each other enhanced allied card. | A Rare Card Lost reward (not necessary) |
Capparwire | When played, lower the power of allied and enemy cards on affected tiles by 1 | Weird and Wicked Booster Pack |
Archdragon | When played, lower the power of enemy cards on affected tiles by 3. | Weird and Wicked Booster Pack |
Toxirat | When played, lower the power of allied and enemy cards on affected tiles by 3 | Suppressive Strikers Booster Pack |
The first deck described will boost your allied card’s stats, while the second deck will focus on destroying your enemy’s cards. While these won’t be nearly as good as a deck built with cards won from tournaments and tough opponents, it should be sufficient to get you through the three players at Card Casino. If you’re using the second deck, prioritize defeating Mary first, as she’ll give you the Death Claw, which will synergize best with this deck. Pietro will likewise give you the Joker, which also receives boosts for destroyed cards, but it’s a little harder to use.
Once you’ve defeated the three players in the Card Casino, head over to the House of Cards shop opposite Chadley to let the vendor there know. He’ll then hand you one set of Sylkis Greens.
Score Rank I in Desert Rush in Corel Prison in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
A much easier way to get Chocobo greens is through Desert Rush. Those who played Final Fantasy 7 Remake will probably remember this minigame, which has you destroying crates to wrack up points. The points are written on the boxes, and boxes with clocks will increase the amount of time you have.
But one stitch you’ll encounter is boxes with lightning bolts on them. Boxes with a singular lightning bolt on them will need to be hit and destroyed. This will power up the gearboxes that are blocking your progress. Once a gearbox’s lightning bolts are all green, it can be destroyed. But the higher you go in the level, the more lightning bolt boxes you’ll need to destroy to activate the gearboxes.
Likewise, you’ll find platforms you can use to move up and down the level. Red platforms go up and blue platforms go down. To make them move, you’ll need to hit the gear on the platform repeatedly. If you stop hitting it, the platform will stop moving. So never stop spamming attacks.
You can also use your ATB abilities to quickly destroy more robust boxes, like Gearboxes and 1500-point boxes. Plan out your attacks strategically and work your way through the level to score the highest number of points possible. You only need to score 15,000 points to get the Sylkis Greens, but it’s worthwhile to get Rank III to grab Tifa’s Dragon Claws.
Grab the Sylkis Greens from the Bartender’s Untended Garden in Corel Prison
Finally, the last set of greens can be found in the bartender’s garden. To get the key to the bartender’s garden, you’ll need to speak to him in the bar that’s just north of the community board. He’ll generously offer you the key to the garden located a few meters away.
Use the key, then climb up the ladder.
Expect to encounter a few Sandhog Pie, who are all weak to Blizzard. But the real antagonist here is a Cactuar, who will grab the greens and run away.
To catch up to the Cactuar, follow it until you get the notification to grapple. Look up, and you’ll see a beam. Press L2 to grapple to it, then use your left joystick to move Cloud backward and forward so he gains enough momentum to jump across the gap. Press Circle when the notification pops up to have him jump and land on the other side.
You’ll then immediately get into a fight with two Sandhog Pies, which you should make mince pie out of. Climb up the opposite wall and then follow the path straight. You’ll see Cactuar run into the light. But before you chase after it, take the branching trail to the left to find two mega potions in a chest.
Leave the cave and be prepared to fight a Cyclone Drake. This is the first time we’ll be encountering this enemy. And despite its name, it’s weak to Aero. Be wary of attacking the aura shrouds it, as doing so will create tornadoes. To avoid this, attack the monster from behind. This will weaken the aura and let you pressure it faster.
With the Drake dead, continue forward, and you’ll reach a dead end. Look up, and you’ll see the Cactuar on a wheel you must grapple across. You’ll need to make five grapple jumps before you can finally leap onto a yellow-marked ladder.
Climb down and follow the tunnel left. But be prepared to fight, as there will be two Death Claws in the clearing. Death Claws can be pressured by avoiding their Reaper Claws, but otherwise, they have no weaknesses.
When the Death Claws are dead, continue forward until you hit a crossroad. Again, you’ll encounter two Sandhog Pigs. Once they’re dead, turn right to find a Poison Materia at the dead end. Then, continue along the main path.
The Cactuar will scuttle along a pipe, but before we follow it, we’ll need to jump into the pit to the left for some sweet, sweet loot. In the chest, you can get a mega-potion. But at the very bottom of the pit, you can get an HP Up Materia.
Once you’ve gathered your loot, cross the pipe and turn right through the stone archway. You’ll find six Cactuar gathered around our coveted Sylkis Green.
You’ll need to fight them once you jump down. They’re very fast, with no weaknesses. Fortunately, physical ATB commands will Pressure them. And they’re the most susceptible to attacks when pressured or while they’re using abilities of their own.
Once they’re dead, you can claim your Sylkis Greens. Then, take the zipline nearby to zoom right back into Corel Prison. There really is no escape. But the 4,000 gil you can find at the end of the zipline makes it sting a little less.
Bring all three Sylkis Greens to Piko, and he’ll be overjoyed and back in pitch-perfect health. But before you go, you can go and get additional greens to unlock a new outfit for Piko at Esther’s Tack shop. Each outfit will impact Piko’s abilities during the big race. So, the more options, the better.
