How to Get a Whispering Key to Open Silent Chests in Diablo 4

To get a Whispering Key, you will have to head to a town with a Curiosity Vendor. The first town you will encounter one of these in is Kyovashad, where you will find Lisbeth, the Purveyor of Curiosities. In the bottom-right corner of the city, you will find the vendor’s wares, including the Whispering Key for 20 Murmuring Obols. This is the main way to get these keys, and you can buy multiple if you have enough Obols!

After getting your hands on a Whispering Key, you can use it on a Silent Chest to gain random items. While you will usually get an assortment of common gear, you can occasionally get rare equipment, making it worthwhile to open a few chests here and there.

Obtaining Obols

As you fight enemies and open chests, you will naturally gain Murmuring Obols over time that you can spend at the Curiosity Vendor. You need 20 Obols for Whispering Keys, but you can also purchase random weapons and armor and attempt to upgrade your equipment setup.

You can only hold a limited number of Obols at a time, so be sure to spend some once you reach around 500!

Diablo 4 will be available on June 6, 2023, on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
