How to Get a Perfect Animal Capture in Warframe

All this for a bit of extra standing, and maybe a Nightwave challenge.

There’s a surprising amount of depth to the open-world environments of Warframe. The bounties are what you’ll likely be doing 75% of the time, but the added aspects of fishing, mining, and animal catching give you plenty more to handle while you’re out and about in expansive lands. With regards to animal catching, there’s a particularly rewarding way to catch animals that will give you the best returns. Here’s how to get a perfect animal capture in Warframe.

What Do You Need to Get a Perfect Animal Capture in Warframe?

A perfect animal capture can be achieved by capturing an animal using one shot of your Tranq Rifle, and without it seeing you. Before you can start capturing though, you’ll need some necessary supplies: a Tranq Rifle and an Echo-Lure. For our example, we’re going to use the Orb Vallis (especially since the Conservationist Weekly Challenge in the Nightwave asks you to get them specifically there), but the same rules generally apply for Deimos and the Plains of Eidolon.

First things first, head to the Conservation expert of the open-worlds hub region. In the case of the Orb Vallis, that would be The Business in Fortuna. Browse their wares, and use 500 Standing to buy a Tranq Rifle along with the required Standing to purchase an Echo-Lure of your choosing. The price can vary between 500 and 10,000 Standing depending on the animal you want. For purposes of the example, we’re going to use the Pobbers Echo-Lure. Ensure the Tranq Rifle is in your Gear Wheel (found through the Arsenal), then head into the open world.

How Do You Find an Animal to Capture?

Once in the open world, pull out your Tranq Rifle and check for spots to track animals. We’ve included circled examples of the tracking spots you’re looking for. Pick one, then make your way over to it. You’re looking for the pile of dung that it’s left at its spot. If you’re having trouble finding it, we’ve included an image of it below. Interact with it, and you’ll see a trail of footprints immediately leading from the animal. Follow those footprints to their Call Point.

Once there, pull out the Echo-Lure and use your Primary Fire button to begin calling it. If it calls back to you, you may notice a small white box on the right side of your screen. If you see it, you want to keep your small light within that area. Again we’ve included an image of what that looks like below.

Keep the light in that box, and the animal will begin coming toward that Call Point. You’re going to want to keep your distance and hunt for the animal on its way since we need it to be unalerted by your presence. If you do it successfully, their health bar will turn grey and you’ll be able to capture it. If done right, you’ll see the Perfect Capture show up in the capture window.
