How to Get a Midwinter Cache in Diablo 4

Back to Nightmares

You might have found all kinds of Blighted Fragments in Fractured Peaks of Diablo 4, but you can also collect a Midwinter Cache during the Midwinter Blight for more rewards. My guide will cover how you can get a cache outside of the peaks and how they work.

Diablo 4: How to Get Midwinter Caches

The Midwinter Cache can be earned by completing any Nightmare Dungeons during the Midwinter Blight event after reaching Tribute level 3. Any time you reach the end of a Nightmare Dungeon, you will get the Glyph XP as always and a cache that goes straight to your inventory. However, the name of the cache is technically under spoils.

Midwinter Nightmare Spoils are the alternative name for the Midwinter Cache and they work like any other box of items in the game. They are used like a consumable, and as soon as you open the box, tons of Blighted Fragments will fall out. If you are already tired of the grind in the Fractured Peaks, this is a fantastic way to keep earning Glyph XP and more event currency.

Before you can start grinding for the caches, you need to finish upgrading the town square in Kyovashad. After you exchange enough of your resources for Midwinter Proofs, the town square will reach Tribute Level 3. That means all the decorations are out and you can finally access the Midwinter Ward in town.

Once the ward is ready to go, that’s your queue to start grinding for a Midwinter Cache in Diablo 4. I still need to finish some alternative Glyphs, so the Nightmare grind makes more sense for me. But the Fractured Peaks are always there if you want the seasonal backdrop instead.

For those of you new to the event in general, make sure to get a head start on collecting Blighted Fragments.
