How to Fix the Flowstone Gate in Palia

It's not you, it's them

As you traverse Palia and its countless human relics, you’ll find yourself faced with no shortage of puzzles. Put an egg there, push these puzzle pieces around to make a giant fish. Stand on a geyser and fly. You know, typical human locks. However, the biggest obstacle isn’t catching a rare bug or solving any puzzle, It’s fixing the flow gates in Palia.

How to Fix the Flow Gates in Palia

In Palia, you’ll encounter flow gates frequently as you traverse the temples and unravel the mystery of the missing humans. And it can seem like no matter how completely you’ve solved the puzzle of the room they’re in, they won’t turn on. But this isn’t an issue on your end. Rather, it’s the game being exceptionally finnicky.

If you’re confident you’ve solved whatever puzzle is in the room with you, and the last step on your quest marker is to “turn on the flow gate”, you just need to look at the flow gate and activate it. If the prompt doesn’t appear immediately, don’t fret. The flow gates require you to look at them in just the right way, at just the right distance, for you to get the prompt to activate them.

This has been the case with every flow gate I’ve encountered in Palia, and it’s unfortunate that this step feels so bugged. But once you do get the flow gate working, you’ll gain new access to a different part of the temple, which is essential to completing the main quest.

Once you’ve managed to complete some of the main quest, it’s a good idea to tackle some of the bundles. And one of the hardest things to complete is getting that Mutated Angler, who can only be found in one area in Palia. Alternatively, you can catch a bug that Tamala loves. Which is a great idea if you’re trying to woo this practical femme fatale.
