Fix Controller Drift in Cyberpunk 2077 With These Tweaks

If you’re struggling with controller drift in Cyberpunk 2077, the best fix is to tweak the Steering Sensitivity, Inner Dead Zone, and Outer Dead Zone under the ‘Controls‘ section in the Settings Menu.

You may have to alter these to your liking, as everyone is different, and CD Projekt RED recommends a higher setting than what I have on mine.

According to CD Projekt RED, they recommend altering the Inner Dead Zone specifically to the following values:

  • PlayStation 5: 0.15
  • Xbox Series X/S: 0.35
  • PC/Steam Deck: 0.35

With this setting adjusted, you should experience far less, if any whatsoever, controller drift in Cyberpunk 2077.

Furthermore, it would appear that some folks, following the release of Update 2.1, have experienced increased controller drift in Cyberpunk 2077. If that’s you, then do not hesitate to tweak the Inner Dead Zone to your liking!

Should You Replace Your Controller With Drift?

Some folks online do recommend replacing the entire controller when dealing with stick drift, but that can feel like such a waste of money. Oftentimes, it is a waste. The controller typically works fine, you must tweak a few in-game settings to remove the drift.

That said, if tweaking settings doesn’t work or the drift becomes worse in time, then perhaps it’s a good idea to buy a new controller. Alternatively, ask to borrow a controller from someone to ensure it’s not just a game settings issue before spending the money.

Do you know what would make for the perfect celebration after solving your controller drift issues in the game? Trying out the new vehicles in Phantom Liberty!
