How to Finish the Tutorial in Escape from Tarkov
A tutorial for the madness ahead.
When you start playing, you immediately enter a cutscene and the tutorial. The tutorial doesn’t really teach you much, which is what you would expect in the future for this game, as it is a hardcore military sim.
There’s no map to follow and just a few vague objectives. Here’s a brief guide to completing the Escape from Tarkov tutorial.
Complete Escape from Tarkov Tutorial Walkthrough
The Escape from Tarkov tutorial brings you to the Ground Zero map, which is the beginner’s map in the game. For those who have already played the map, there are only some slight tweaks to it for the tutorial.
You start in the Terragroup building in the lobby. Head immediately to the desk at the center and loot all the healing items. Loot the tape on top of the white notebook. Press “M” to play the tape and advance to the next objective.
At this point, there isn’t any objective that shows up, but the path is quite linear anyway. While looking at the barricaded entrance, turn right and head straight to the hallway going to the parking lot. In the hallway, you’ll spot a dead body with a Salewa (you’ll need this for a side quest later) and an MPX with three magazines next to it.
Swap to the MPX so the next part will be easier. Head down the end of the hallway and turn left to the parking lot. There are two or three Scavs that will fight you here. Use the cars for cover and eliminate them. Loot the bodies if you need some extra healing, weapons, and bullets. You can also loot the dead body spawns nearby for more loot.
Go to the opposite side of the parking garage and vault over the sandbags to get outside. There will be more scavs outside, and eliminate them all.
Go across the street and head to the second building on the right. It is the only building you can go inside to anyway. Head straight and go through the hallway. There should be more enemies here. At the end of the hallway, there’s a closed door on the left. Open it and head toward the staircase. Go down and keep following the path.
You’ll eventually reach the back entrance of the building. There are more Scavs outside. Dispose of them from the inside. Before going out, go to the tents first. There are some A-1 Medkits, CARs, and Splints on the table. Pick them all up if you have the space.
Go outside and turn left. You’ll see a green flare next to a gated fence. Head toward the corner, and this should be your Klimov Street extraction point.
This will bring you back to the Escape from Tarkov lobby, where you can meet all the traders, grab quests, and experience the main storyline.
