The Matter of Technique task in Escape from Tarkov’s Halloween event finally brings you to a different map other than The Lab. You’ll have to go to one of the most chaotic maps, Streets of Tarkov. It is chaotic in a way where there are many zombies roaming in the city at the same time taking a toll on your PC’s memory as well. You want to be quick in finishing the Matter of Technique task

How to Complete the Matter of Technique Task in Escape from Tarkov

The Matter of Technique task requires you to finish the following objectives:

  • Locate the required computer at TerraGroup’s Cardinal office on Streets of Tarkov.
  • Install the flash drive on the computer to download the files.

How to Craft the Flash Drive with Special Software

Before you can even attempt to finish the Matter of Technique quest, you must craft the Flash Drive with special software in your Intelligence Center. You only need an Intelligence Center level 1, so if you didn’t play this wipe, you can still catch up because you only need Vents and Security to level 2, which roughly takes 3 hours each to complete.

The craft requires a secured flash drive, which you can buy from the flea market for roughly 30-40k Roubles. Crafting the flash drive with special software only takes 15 minutes, so it is as fast as one Scav raid.

Once you have the flash drive with special software, place it inside your container so you don’t lose it. Prepare for a zombie game, but PMCs are equally dangerous on Streets of Tarkov. It is best to have one cheap semi-automatic shotgun to deal with the zombies and a mid-range weapon to deal with PMCs and emergency situations. Queue a raid for Streets of Tarkov, and I hope you get a good spawn.

Where to Install the Flash Drive in Streets of Tarkov

The building where you have to stash the flash drive is located across from the Beluga restaurant in the residential complex near the Cardinal Apartment Complex. You can use the image above as a reference since it is easily spotted using the main road.

Go inside the main entrance of the building or through the open window. As you go inside the building, look to the right and follow the path to the office. Go to the monitors, and you should stash the flash drive here.

It takes a whopping 60 seconds to stash the flash drive, and any interruption will restart the progress. You should clear the area before stashing. Since there could be zombies, you also want to aim directly at the door while you are stashing so you can easily shoot as you see them.

Once you have stashed the flash drive, you don’t have to survive and extract to finish the task. The extraction spots are far and if you brought a green flare, you should use it and take the Klimov Street extraction.
