How to Find the Exotic Mothercarp Fish in Destiny 2

A fish straight out of my nightmares

Released on June 21, the latest Exotic fish to join the school is the Mothcarp Fish. And this odd, antenna-adorned fish can only be found in one place. Here’s how to find the Exotic Mothercarp Fish in Destiny 2.

How to Find the Exotic Mothercarp Fish in Destiny 2

Fishing is easily one of the best activities that came to Season of the Deep, right behind the dungeon. While Kheprian Axehead used to be the only Exotic fish available, the Mothcarp has now joined the glowing golden school. And you’ll want to get your hands on this strange, noxious green fish as soon as possible.

To find the Mothcarp, head to Miasma in Savathun’s Throne World. This is the only place the Mothcarp will spawn, though it’s an exceptionally rare occurrence.

To get to this pond, load into the Quagmire, then take the path north. You’ll enter Miasma, and then you’ll only need to keep heading straight up. The pond is generally on the very top and left side of the map. Once there, cast your line. It took me around 70 casts before I caught Mothcarp.

But it’s worth the effort. If you bring the Mothcarp into the H.E.L.M. and turn it in at the aquarium, you’ll get the Broken Blade. The Broken Blade seems to be an item that will be released on a weekly basis, which can be taken to the Thrall statues found hidden in the Deep Dive activity.

It’s likely that these Broken Blades are connected to an upcoming Exotic mission, but this is currently conjecture.
