How To Find the Bookseller in Stardew Valley

Knowledge is power, and in Stardew Valley, books are the best way to learn skills or get a hefty chunk of experience. So, you’ll want to visit the Bookseller whenever he’s in town.

The Bookseller appears twice each season in Stardew Valley. You can find out the exact date of his arrival on the calendar outside of the general shop. For spring in year 1, the Bookseller appeared on the 13th and 24th for me. If you don’t feel like checking the calendar, you’ll also get a notification when you wake up during the day letting you know that the Bookseller is in town.

When the Bookseller is in town in Stardew Valley, you can find him on the east side of town, just above JojaMart. You’ll even see a flyer to the right of Pierre’s General Store pointing right over the bridge. Once you’re across the bridge, simply walk up the stairs and you’ll find that usually empty plateau with its platform will be occupied by the Bookseller.

When you speak to him, you’ll find you have two options. You can opt to buy books or save the books you find and trade them in for a variety of high-value items.
