Don't miss these!

Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 is a breath of fresh air in the rogue-lite space with straightforward mechanics, tight controls, and diverse classes offering dozens of hours of gameplay. It also has plenty of visually varied locations to explore with secrets to discover along the way. Spotting these can be a bit hard, but here is how you can find secret rooms in Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 so you don’t miss out on previous items and resources.

Finding Secret Rooms in Heroes of Hammerwatch 2

While exploring the many halls, caves, and temples of Hammerwatch, players can come across secret rooms with a chest that can contain gear, trinkets, or a resource like wood, stone, or iron. To spot these, players need to keep an eye on their minimap and look for a small crack in the wall, which indicates that the wall is breakable at that particular spot. This is what it looks like on the map:

This crack only appears when you’re in the direct vicinity of a secret room, so having the minimap enabled is very useful to spot these as you move through the halls. Once spotted, you can start hitting that part of the wall, and the crack gets bigger with each hit until a path to the secret room becomes visible.

Outside of Forests, these Secret Rooms (and their respective cracks) can be found in every other stage. This includes the Dark Caves, Temple, Crypt, Dungeon, Barracks, Courts, and the Dark Hall.

While players can spot these cracks in walls without the map, it’s a bit hard considering how dimly lit most of the indoor environments are. Here is what the crack looks like in-game. I’ve increased the brightness of the specific spot to show how hard it is to spot by just looking.

The crack itself can appear in any direction, but it will always be in a flat wall, meaning there is no curve in its design. We’re unsure what the spawn rate for these rooms is just yet, but at least one room appears in each area, and we have seen up to two rooms in a single area as well.

As mentioned, these usually have pretty valuable items in them so make sure to be on the lookout if you want to get better gear during your run.
