How to Farm Unique Items in Diablo 4

When one farm dungeon is nerfed, another rises to take its place

The most coveted items in Sanctuary all have one thing in common – they’re unique. But getting them is no easy task. Fortunately, there’s a way to farm them. Here’s how to farm Unique armor and weapons in Diablo 4.

How to Farm Unique Items in Diablo 4

There’s nothing rarer and more coveted than Unique items. Not only do they offer great stat boosts, they also have unique buffs that can make or break a build. Finding them all boils down to RNG, but farming high-level enemies, in particular Elites, can make finding them much easier. I’ll run through the World Tier 3 strategy first, then World Tier 4.

Before we get into the best farming spot, note that Unique items will only drop in World Tier 3 and World Tier 4. To unlock World Tier 3, you’ll need to complete the campaign, then the capstone dungeon, before changing your World Tier level at the statue in Kyovashad. If you’re not sure where the capstone dungeon is, check out our guide here.

If you’re at World Tier 3, the best place to farm is Anica’s Claim Dungeon, in the Fractured Peaks. If you’re struggling to find it, it’s east of the city of Kyovashad. But to unlock it, you’ll need to defeat and convert the Stronghold Malnok. Once you do so, Anica’s Dungeon will appear.

Here’s how the farming method works.

  • Anica’s Dungeon has seven Elite enemies within, called Animus Keepers.
  • Skip the mobs and kill each of the Elites. Killing the dungeon boss will cut into your time, so skip it.
  • Instead, leave the dungeon once all seven are dead.
  • Once you’re outside, leave the party if you’re co-op and re-invite your friends to start it again. If you’re solo, open your menu to leave the game and immediately boot it up again.
  • Run the dungeon again.

The reason this dungeon is so much better than many others is that it takes only five minutes to complete. It often has a shrine, and most importantly, it’s unlikely to be nerfed. Other dungeons with higher concentrations of Elites have already had stealth nerfs which have drastically lowered their loot drops. Because Anica’s Dungeon is associated with an early quest, it will likely remain untouched.

Do this until a Helltide Event appears. Helltides occur every other hour, and have a plethora of chests where you can cash in Cinders. Save all of your Cinders until you find the Tortured Gift of Mysteries, which are chests that do not appear on the map until you get close to them. These chests cost 175 Cinders but they seem to guarantee three Legendary Drops.

May luck be on your side, wanderer.

If you’re tired of grinding out this dungeon, I highly recommend Nightmare Dungeons for their challenge and tendency to drop great loot. Check out our article on how to get Nightmare Sigils if you haven’t unlocked this endgame content: How to Get Nightmare Sigils in Diablo 4.
