Rosary Beads are the primary currency in Hollow Knight Silksong, and you’ll notice you need a ton of them for basic purchases like maps and charms. If you’re looking to gather many of these early, here’s the best area to farm Rosary Beads early in Hollow Knight Silksong.

How to Get Rosary Beads

There are three primary methods of getting Rosary Beads. The first requires you to find them strung up in the environment, and then you can attack the necklaces and collect the fallen beads. This can be annoying, especially when you don’t have magnetic charms early on. Furthermore, these are one-time collectables.

The second method is by defeating certain enemies who drop these Rosary Beads. Hollow Knight Silksong has two primary currencies, and some enemies only drop one of these.

The final method involves finding and opening the Rosary Bead necklaces you can find by defeating certain enemies and looting some areas. Unlike normal Rosary Beads, these are not lost upon death.

How to Farm Rosary Beads

If you’re trying to farm Rosary Beads early to purchase the map or to buy items from, then the best location is the Mosshome area in the Bone Bottom region. This is the green shrubbery area with the humanoid bugs. Unlike the enemies in The Marrow, the bug enemies here all drop between three to five Rosary Beads each. Plus, they respawn every time you re-enter the room.

If you’re just a few Rosary Beads short of the purchase you want to make, then this is the best area to quickly farm some, as the enemies are also quite easy. Later areas have enemies that drop significantly more Rosary Beads, but when starting out you can just loop between the two main rooms and quickly farm over a hundred Rosary Beads within 5-10 minutes.

Where to Spend Rosary Beads

The two main locations to spend Rosary Beads are the map maker, Shakra, and the merchant in the main village. The amount of Rosary Beads dropped is just enough to comfortably purchase all the map-making tools from Shakra and some of the cheaper items from the merchant. One of the best ways to secure and save your Rosary Beads is to turn them into Rosary Amulets at the merchant.

However, for the more expensive items from the Merchant, like the Simple Key, which costs 500 Rosary Beads, this farm is inefficient. It’s better to move on to later areas for those.
