Enchantments are used to fine-tune your gear in Diablo 4 by changing the smaller affixes for better stats, but you need Forgotten Souls to complete the process. Here is how to start farming the souls and where you can easily find them within Sanctuary.
How to Get Forgotten Souls in Diablo 4
Forgotten Souls can only be obtained during Helltide Events. Completing World Events within the Helltide or opening Screaming Hell Veins is the best way to farm the souls. The veins are unique to the Helltides, and players must be at World Tier 3 before these events will even appear on the map in Diablo 4.
As of Season 3, Helltide events only have a five-minute delay before restart. So that means you can farm Forgotten Souls at almost all times on the map. Gone are the days when you have to watch the Tide Tracker. Look at your map and head to anywhere there is a Helltide active. This area will have numerous locations where you can farm Forgotten Souls from Screaming Hell veins like any other ore. The veins look like standard ore veins with some blue hints to make them stand out.
Where to Find Forgotten Souls in Diablo 4:
- Complete World Events in Helltides.
- Open Screaming Hell Veins.
- Open Chests with Aberrant Cinders.
When you open a Screaming Hell Vein, you will get two Forgotten Souls and a handful of Aberrant Cinders. Simply searching the Helltide marked areas on the map on horseback is the fastest way to farm these. However, the reward chest in the Helltide World Events can also provide some additional souls with a bit more effort.
When you have the Forgotten Souls, you need in Diablo 4, take them to an Occultis in any major town. They are used to enchant your equipment and reroll the affixes for your armor, which means they are integral to the end-game loop.
