How to Farm Coal in Nightingale

To the mines we go

Surviving in the more aggressive Realms of Nightingale can be daunting if you don’t have enough resources. Coal is one of the many materials one can find scattered across the areas and can also be easily found in certain areas.

Where to Find Coal in Nightingale

Coal can be typically found inside caves around the Realms. While not all Realms will feature caves, there is a good chance that you will find some Coal inside them if you happen to pass by one of these. Just like other Gemstones and general Ores, they can be found in special mining rocks that differ from the usual. Coal stones are usually brown, with a pointy design like regular rocks.

Caves usually house a bit of Sulphur, which is more similar to other Gemstones like Quartz and Sapphire and have a yellow color. Mining spots for these are usually right next to Coal spots, so you can make your life easier by grabbing both resources simultaneously. There will eventually be some situations where you’ll need them, so better safe than sorry.

Coal can also spawn randomly on Desert and Swamp Realms even outside of caves. While this is less likely to happen, don’t miss the rare opportunities when it happens and grab them as usual. You will probably still need to head for caves later if you’re looking for extras, especially since going into higher-level Realms won’t get you extra resources from gathering. You get boosted Essence rates, but you only get the same amount of Coal from a beginner Realm and from an advanced one.

But of course, it can take a while before you can start heading to those bigger realms lying past Antiquarian, so you won’t see any Coal that soon in the game. And if your Coal-using construction is somehow destroyed, you can fix it instead of rebuilding it anew.
