Occasionally, certain videogames require the use of real-world knowledge in order to accomplish specific feats within the game. A recent example of this is found in Bloober Team’s newest release, Layers of Fear, which tasks achievement hunters with using Morse code in order to attempt sending out an SOS. Completing this challenge will net players The Perfect Storm PlayStation trophy or Xbox achievement. Here is how to complete this SOS achievement, which actually might come in handy should you happen to find yourself stranded out at sea in real life.
Sendin’ Out an SOS in Layers of Fear
In the first chapter of The Actor’s Story, during natural progression, you will encounter a communications array with radio equipment. This is where “The Perfect Storm” can be completed.
While there are headphones on the middle/right side of the desk, you want to look at the left side instead.
To the left side of a desk near the microphone, you will notice a device. which registers beeps when you interact with it. Pressing the button initiates a quick beep while holding it causes a long beep.
In order to obtain the achievement, you must use Morse code to send out an SOS. This requires three short beeps, followed by three long beeps, and finished with three more short beeps, creating the “S – O – S.” Here is how it should sound.
Once the SOS has been successfully sent, you will obtain a bronze PlayStation trophy or an Xbox achievement worth 5 Gamerscore. For more news, reviews, guides, and features, Prima Games has everything you need, just a click away.
