How to Drift in Fortnite Rocket Racing

Gotta drift fast.

Fortnite Rocket Racing takes the cars out of the soccer field in Rocket League and onto the track in fast-paced races. Like other racing games, Fortnite Rocket Racing allows players to drift which could result in a quick advantage over other racers where mere seconds can matter.

How to Drift in Fortnite Rocket Racing

Drifting in Fortnite Rocket Racing can be done by making a tight turn. Of course, this technique is more suitable for the wide turns on the track than the straight roads. Turning your car in the same direction as the wide turn will make it easier to stabilize than making small turns on a narrow road.

While making the tight turn around the bend, hold the brake button as you accelerate to start drifting. Smoke will start coming out of your wheels from the friction in the road.

The drift will be done correctly if a meter appears on the bottom of the screen and starts filling up. Players will gain more speed depending on how filled the meter is.

Players can complete the drift by straightening their car out. The bottom meter will disappear, and the racer will receive a small speed boost. Players can drift as many times as they can in a race.

There is another type of drift called Rocket Drift, which is meant for even tighter turns. Players can Rocket Drift by making a tight turn and holding the Rocket Drift button. The Rocket Drift button can be the X button on Xbox, Square button on PlayStation, and the Y button on Nintendo Switch. It is the same as the regular drift, but your car will turn tighter and exhaust red sparks.
