How to Disable the Puke Effect in Windblown

Coming back to life is rough, man.

Whenever your character respawns in the hub world of Windblown, they puke their guts out, and it’s a pretty funny if gross visual. It makes sense in the game’s context, but the animation can put off some players. This was brought up by a few players during the demo, and Motion Twin has heard them. If you want to disable the puke or vomit effect in Windblown, here is how you can do that.

Disable the Puke Effect in Windblown

To disable the puke/vomit animation in Windblown, check the “No vomit” option in the accessibility menu of options.

This can be accessed from the main menu, and disables the animation entirely, replacing it with the character crawling out of their tent instead.

That’s all there is to it, and you won’t have to witness the effects of being resurrected.

Reduce or Disable Blood Effects in Windblown

Windblown is a pretty gory game, and there is a lot of blood that is sprayed around the combat arena as you hit enemies, and get hit by them. The developers have added a slider for the blood effects, and you can tweak this to your liking. If you don’t want to see any blood at all, you can set the value to 0%.

This is a comparison of the blood effects with enabled, and disabled. You can also use a value somewhere in between to find a sweet spot, for blood effects.

Since Windblown is in early access, we expect the game to go through many changes throughout its course of development, and if you’re not a fan of any particular system, we recommend letting the developers know using the in-game feedback tools. The vomit animation was requested to be disabled by a player, and the developers actually listened.
