Anyone who took part in the Call of Duty: DMZ action when the mode was released in November may remember how easy it was to defeat the Chemist in Al Mazrah. All you needed was a well-fortified vehicle and you could just run over the first boss ever, along with his small squad.
Now that the cheesiest methods for killing the first DMZ boss have been nerfed, players will need to take him on using their weapons and some tactics. With that said, he’s still not too hard to defeat if you know what you’re getting into, and that’s what we’re here for in this COD guide.
COD DMZ – How to Defeat the Chemist
Before you take on this Al Mazrah Commander, you’ll need to find him on the map. His location always changes, but it’s easy to find because the spot has a constant marker. You’ll notice a small yellow circle with a radiation symbol in the middle. This is always where the Chemist will spawn, but the location changes with each deployment.
Once you’ve made it to the radiation zone, you’ll need a gas mask or you won’t last long. If you don’t have one when you arrive, you can kill some of the guards inside the zone. All of them will drop masks, and you can even carry extras in your backpack if you need them.

Next, it’s time to take on the boss himself. You can scout the area before you enter and even try to hit a few sniper shots to get rid of some of the health. Taking out the Chemist in the COD DMZ doesn’t take too much damage, but he has plenty of AI guards, so eliminating as many as you can helps you with your mission. When you get close, you should utilize whatever explosives you have to quickly break through his health pool. Within moments, the boss will go down and the M13B is yours.
