Your destination for checking Pokemon friendship levels is Cascarrafa. Cascarrafa is a town directly east of Asado Desert, just past West Province Area One. If you’re starting from Mesagoza, you’ll want to head west toward South Province Area Two, take the path up to the West Province and go northeast toward Cascarrafa.

Upon arriving in Cascarrafa, you’ll notice it’s a very tall city! To visit the main parts of this area, you’ll have to take elevators to access certain shops, the Gym, and more. Take an elevator to the second level before heading toward the fountain in the center of the area. Nearby, you’ll see an NPC with an orange text box above their head, asking, “You friendly with your Pokemon?” That’s right. This NPC is the secret to checking friendship levels.

Once you speak to this character, they’ll ask you to choose a Pokemon to determine your closeness. Below are some various remarks you might see:

  • Low Friendship: “You two seem kinda neutral.”
  • Medium Friendship: “You’re starting to get friendly.”
  • High Friendship: “Whoa, you’re best friends!”

You must get past the “High Friendship” point for most happiness-based evolutions. If you see the last message with your Pokemon, you’ll know you’re getting close to evolving it! Continue to walk with your Pokemon, feed it berries and have picnics to raise your friendship levels further.
