As you partake in Fire Emblem Engage’s top-down combat, you may have one of two thoughts. The first is that this is completely fine and there is nothing to worry about. However, the second may be that you want the freedom to move the camera angle around as much as you’d like so you can get better views of the battlefield and your characters. Regardless of the reason, you do have some options for how to do this. If you’re interested in learning more, continue reading to discover how to change your camera angle in Fire Emblem Engage.
How to Change the Camera Angle in Fire Emblem Engage
During combat, you can use your joysticks to move the camera around. While the left one allows you to move your cursor around and freely look around the map, the right joystick lets you zoom in and out and turn the camera to a diagonal view. More specifically, by tapping the joystick up and down, your camera will zoom in and out, respectively, while pressing left and right creates diagonal angles.

Changing Camera Angles out of Combat in Fire Emblem Engage
When you’re out of combat, in areas like Somniel and others, you can move your camera angle around using your right joystick. Doing this allows you to twirl the camera around to face your character or turn around more easily. You can also zoom in/out using the up and down directional buttons on your left joycon. Lastly, you can use ZL to snap back onto your character if your angle is out of whack and to fix it quickly.
You can also change the camera angle on the world map once you unlock it. Like before, you can do this by using the right joystick to pan the camera up and down, ZR to zoom in and out, and ZL to move the camera freely.
