Need more firepower?

Whether it’s Al Mazrah in Warzone 2 and the DMZ or Verdansk in the original battle royale, two weapons have always been the norm when you drop into the fight. What if we told you that it’s possible to have three weapons at a time now so that you can cover all over your bases?

You won’t be able to swap between three weapons at a time, regardless of the mechanics that you use, but it’s certainly possible to have the third on hand at any time. That means more preparation for any situation, and it isn’t too hard to pull off. We’ll discuss how carrying three weapons works in this Warzone 2 and DMZ guide so you can try it yourself.

Warzone 2 and DMZ – How to Carry Three Weapons

Carrying more than two weapons at a time simply comes down to one of the new mechanics in Warzone 2: backpacks. In both Warzone and the DMZ, backpacks are mechanic that dictates how your inventory works as a whole. There are three backpack sizes and each one provides more space with some special upgrades.

Once you reach the medium size backpack level, you can start stowing a weapon in an empty weapon slot. In other words, you can carry three weapons at a time. Two weapons remain in your two standard slots while the third one sits in a reserve slot as the stowed option. You can always open your backpack and simply swap the stowed weapon with one of the active guns which only takes seconds.

Unlike DMZ though, you can’t bring a medium-sized backpack into the BR for Warzone 2. You’ll have to find them in each match by searching containers, taking out players, or picking one up from a Buy Station with cash. In the standard BR mode, the backpacks spawn at a higher rate.

On the other hand, you can bring a medium backpack into DMZ with three weapons as long as you extracted with one in a previous game. The trade-off is that the spawn rate for these bags appears to be much lower in the DMZ. Once you find what you’re looking for though, you’ll have all three ranges covered and you’ll have to tool needed for each fight in Warzone 2.
