How to Unlock the Barn in Moonlight Peaks
To build a barn, you’ll need Ridge to construct it for you. Ridge roams around town, but if you need anything specific, you must go to his shop, the Howling Hammer, which is open from 18:00 to 0:00.
When you interact with Ridge from the shop, make sure to move to the 2nd tab or category, which contains all the construction options. If this doesn’t show up, you must progress first, especially the part where Ridge requests some wood to upgrade your home early in the game.
The barn costs 4,000 coins and requires a 10×6 free space around your home. So, when you have the money to buy the barn, clear out the weeds, trees, and stones first before requesting Ridge to build the barn. When you request the barn, it will be transferred to your home, and you’ll choose where Ridge places it. If there’s no space, you can’t build the barn.
If you are having trouble getting 4,000 coins early, I suggest planting crops that yield every few days, like grapes and strawberries. This way, you don’t have to keep buying seeds, and these fruits also become more profitable when you process them in a keg for wine and juice.
How to Get Animals in Moonlight Peaks
The very first day, or should I say night, of building the barn, you’ll get mail from Luna giving tips for the barn, such as getting fodder or that you can only hold four animals per barn, which also means that you can build more than one barn.
Go to Luna’s farm to the north and look for her barn. There will be animals that remain static outside. Interact with any of them to purchase one. The Cheekens are the earliest animals available, and you’ll keep unlocking new ones as you progress. Once you purchase an animal, they’ll go to the barn you designate them to.
