To get this specific job, age your character and keep your smart stats high until you turn 18. By this point, you will graduate from secondary school and can attend university or get a full-time job. Choose university and pick Engineering as your degree. If you do not see this immediately, age up and recheck or close and reopen the BitLife app.

After finishing your engineering degree, head into the full-time job list. However, before you start diving into engineering jobs and applying for one of the positions, it is important to differentiate between the following two careers:

  • Mechanical Engineer: Appears with a silver gear emoji beside the job name and the “Mechanical Engineer” career text in the job description.
  • Chemical Engineer: Appears with a purple flask emoji beside the job name and the “Chemical Engineer” career text in the job description.

With this in mind, since we are going for the Mechanical Engineer career, your goal is to find the Engineer I job with a gear beside the name. If you go for any others, like Engineer III or VP of Engineering, you will automatically be denied for lack of work experience. Once you find Engineer I, apply for the position and pass the interview to become a Mechanical Engineer in BitLife!
