How to Beat Thurdoth the Fierce in Nice Day for Fishing
Let Eugene handle it!

Thurdoth the Fierce is the first boss you’ll encounter in Epic NPC Man’s Nice Day for Fishing. It is shocking, as it is funny, because who knew you would have this type of battle using a fishing rod?
Anyway, here’s a straightforward guide on how to beat Thurdoth the Fierce in Nice Day for Fishing.
How to Defeat Thurdoth the Fierce in Nice Day for Fishing

When you rescue Eugene from the goblin, you’ll have to bring him back to the town of Honeywood, or he’ll just keep crying and drown your ears in sorrow. As you reach the town, you’ll meet Thurdoth the Fierce.
The battle starts immediately once you “fish” it out. The combat mechanics are the same as catching a fish, but it has more HP and has unique attacks.
You’ll see three partitions in Thurdoth the Fierce’s HP. As you burn through his HP, Thurdoth attacks faster, making it harder for you to attack, block, and parry.
Thurdoth the Fierce’s Attacks

Thurdoth has two main attacks you must look out for: the Laser Beam and the Dragon Roar.
Before going through these attacks, look at the icon beside Thurdoth the Fierce’s HP bar. You’ll see a cooldown timer and an icon. If it looks like a Laser Beam, Thurdoth will use it when it finishes the timer; the same goes for the Dragon Roar.
Laser Beam is a direct and instant hit on you, so you’ll need to look at the Laser Beam icon to know when you should block.

The Dragon Roar’s attack is more on mini fireballs going straight at you. During the first phase, Thurdoth only throws a few slow fireballs. In the last phase, it becomes much faster, as seen in the image above.
It’ll take a while to get used to, but you should mainly focus on blocking and perfect parrying at the last phase to avoid taking unnecessary damage.
Thurdoth the Fierce Fight Strategy

The Laser Beam attacks are self-explanatory. Just try to block when you see the cooldown timer from the icon. Honestly, you don’t even have to block the Laser Beam. You can completely ignore it and take the damage.
You can use your repair or heal on cooldown when taking damage anyway. It is much easier to block Thurdoth’s Dragon Roar or fireball attacks, so you can play it safe during this phase.
Since this is a boss fight, you are free to attack whenever without taking damage. So, you want to attack continuously. If you see the Dragon’s Roar or fireball attack, you can squeeze in an attack or two between the blocks and the parries.
If you try to do this, you’ll burn through Thurdoth’s HP so quickly that you’ll barely burn through your energy or stamina.
Use Gleaming Eye Scorchers on cooldown to maximize damage. Saving your stamina for repairs or the healing spell is counterintuitive because you won’t have to heal as much if the boss dies quicker, right?
You want to stay focused during the last phase because that’s where it starts to get tricky.
If you are low on stamina and you are playing safe, you might run out of HP and stamina for your spells, forcing you to perfect parry multiple fireballs just to survive.
