How to Age Up Foals and Adult Horses in The Sims 4

To age up foals and adult horses in The Sims 4, you must buy horse age-up treats from the Bits & Bales Mercantile general store in Chestnut Ridge. Each age-up treat costs 150 Simoleons and will appear in your Sim’s personal inventory upon purchase. After buying some, you can use it on your horse to age it up instantly.

Alternatively, you can wait for your horses to age naturally without giving them any treats. However, this can take several in-game days or even weeks, depending on your Sim lifespan settings and the horse’s current age.

The general store is a brown building near the Equestrian Center in Chestnut Ridge. When you interact with it, select “Shop for Groceries and Goods” and scroll down until you find the age-up treats.

After you buy the item, you can select your horse and click Horse Care to find Feed Age-Up Treat. If your horse is a foal, it’ll age up and become an adult horse. Similarly, an adult horse will become elderly after eating the treat.

There are some fun uses for using age-up treats on your horses. If you have a foal, turning it into an adult horse allows you to ride, train and compete with other Sims in Equestrian competitions. While aging an adult horse into an elderly one doesn’t have many gameplay benefits, it will calm the horse down slightly, causing it to sleep more.
