How To Access the Space Marine 2 Public Test Server on Steam

Ready yourself!

Saber Interactive has done a great job of supporting Space Marine 2 since its launch back in 2024 with new content updates, features, and continued bug fixes. Patch 7 is the next major update, which adds plenty of new features including custom PvP lobbies, new weapons, customization, and missions.

If you’re eager to try out the patch before it officially launches and share feedback with the developers, you can do so by accessing the Public Test Server for Space Marine 2, and here is how.

Access the Space Marine 2 Public Test Server

The Private Test server for Space Marine 2 is available as a separate game in your Steam library and includes WIP content.

  • Open Steam, you might have to restart it if you haven’t in a while
  • Navigate to your library (You need to own a copy of Space Marine 2)
  • Here, search for “Space Marine 2 Test Server” and it will show up in the list right below Space Marine 2.
  • Right-click on it, select Properties, and make sure the default language is set to English in the General tab.
  • Download and install the Space Marine 2 Public Test Server just like any other Steam game. Keep in mind that this is a separate build, and the files will be completely separate as well.

Space Marine 2 Public Test Server Schedule

The test server build is now available until Patch 7.0 officially launches. You can provide feedback to the developers on the Focus Together forums.

Space Marine 2 Public Test Server Included Content

The following new content will be available for players to try out on the Test Server.

PvE

  • PvE Prestige Ranks
  • PvE New Map Exfiltration (excluding final bossfight). Please note that when reaching the final boss arena, the “Victory” screen starts as soon as you interact with the terminal and the classic mission end behavior follows (loadings, result screens, and return to Battle Barge).
  • Weapons Class Restrictions changed (PvE Only: classes now have access to more weapons)
  • Improved PvE Matchmaking (reduces the chance of joining a team with the same class)

PvP

  • Custom PvP Lobby
  • Matchmaking improvements for better team balancing

General

  • Weapons Perks Rework
  • New Secondary Weapon – Inferno Pistol (PvE and PvP).
  • New Colors available in the Armouring Hall: Volupus Pink + Thousand Sons Blue
  • Cloth coloring for Bulwark
  • Option to color hands separately from arms

DLC

  • “Space Wolves” Chapter Pack: present in-game but not playable.
  • “Imperial Fist” Champion Pack: present in-game but not playable.

You can read the complete patch notes here.

Since this is a public test server, you are free to create content from this build. The progress, however, will not be saved as this isn’t the main build of Space Marine 2. Mods aren’t supported either, and while most of the content from Patch 7 is available in this, some of it requires extra work according to the developers, and will be available at the launch of this patch.
