Fighting gigantic monster inevitably carries a fair amount of risk. After all, these beasts can gobble you up with no issue, so you really need as many advantages as you can get if you want to survive. Dauntless allows you a great many advantages, but only if you’re willing to put the work in. In order to succeed in the toughest hunts you need to know exactly how best to open up your prey, you need to know how to make them vulnerable. One of the best ways to do this is to stagger the Behemoths, which leaves them incredibly susceptible to follow up attacks. That’s why you’re here: to learn how to stagger Behemoths in Dauntless.
How To Stagger Behemoths In Dauntless
In order to stagger a Behemoth, you have to deal stagger damage to it. Stagger damage is a type of damage that occurs with certain mods or weapons and it comes up in blue instead of the usual colour. While you can mod a weapon you like to deal stagger damage, your best bet is to go with the Hammer. Rather than worrying about what kind of hammer you’re using or which attacks, the Hammer simply doles out stagger damage like nothing else in the game. It will have your prey kneeling in no time. You’ll want to be focussing your attacks on the head or the legs of the beast in order to get it to fall over quickly, and after a certain number of attacks the Behemoth will stagger and you can all jump in to unleash a barrage of attacks on it.
