How Soap Works in PowerWash Simulator 2
Lather it up.
PowerWash Simulator 2 improves upon several aspects of the original game with new quality of life features, washing tools, lifts, and a revamp of certain systems. One of these revamped systems is how Soap works in the sequel,l offering far more practical utility in the process.
Here is a breakdown of the Soap system and its dedicated nozzle in PowerWash Simulator 2.
Soap in PowerWash Simulator 2 Explained
Unlike the first game, soap in PowerWash Simulator 2 doesn’t actually clean any surface or item. Instead, it serves as a temporary layer that enhances the effectiveness of your washer once it’s rinsed off. Using the Soap Nozzle, apply a layer of soap to any surface you want to clean, then wash the lathered area for a much more effective result.

Soap is especially useful for tougher surfaces that have built-up rust or thick layers of grime. Just like in real life, soap enhances the cleaning process but doesn’t replace it.
You can also recall the applied soap by pressing R in PowerWash Simulator 2 while you have the Soap Nozzle equipped.

Soap Nozzle Explained
Each Washer (apart from the default ones) has a dedicated Soap Nozzle, which you can switch to when you want to apply the soap layer rather than water. Technically, soap in PowerWash Simulator 2 is unlimited, and you don’t need to purchase refills. However, the developers have balanced this by giving you a limited active amount per level.
This means that once you’ve applied enough soap to a surface, you need to wash it away before it refills. If you’ve used all the soap and notice it isn’t refilling, make sure the previous layer has been completely washed off or recalled first.
Another thing is the meter next to the Soap Nozzle in the UI. That’s pretty confusing and not exactly very intuitive. What happens is that it shows the remaining amount, but it slowly fills up every time you switch to the Soap Nozzle.

I’m not sure if this is a bug, because it’s not reliable to quickly check how much soap you currently have and hope that it’s reworked in a patch.
Soap Nozzle Prices for Each Washer
| Soap Nozzle | Price |
|---|---|
| Prime Vista 2400 Soap Nozzle | $375 |
| Urban X U2 Soap Nozzle | $450 |
| Prime Vista 3000 Soap Nozzle | $750 |
| Urban X MAX Soap Nozzle | $900 |
| Prime Vista Pro Soap Nozzle | $1125 |
| Urban X Stream Soap Nozzle | $1350 |
Soap and Adaptive Nozzle Strategy
If you’re playing in a co-op, an easy way to finish levels fast is by targeting the same tasks at the same time, where one player assumes the role of applying soap, while the other washes it away. This method is basically broken because you’ll clean through levels with ridiculous speed, and it sort of takes the fun out at times, but it’s definitely recommended when you want to finish it fast.
