In Metro Exodus, players have the opportunity to use a rest mechanic in order to heal and pass time in the game. This can be useful if you need to sneak around at night, or wish to continue your journey during the daytime when fewer creatures are out and about. Read on to find out how to rest in Metro Exodus!
If you’re having a hard time learning to rest in Metro Exodus, we have a few tips that should be able to help you out. First, keep in mind that you won’t be able to pass time by resting until you unlock Safe Houses in Metro Exodus.
After you discover your first Safe House, it will be marked on your in-game map. By opening your map and interacting with one of these Safe House markers, you’ll be able to fast travel to their location.
Once inside the Safe House, track down a bed, then hold down the action button to interact with it. In doing so, you’ll be given a few different options to choose from including sleeping until nighttime, sleeping until daytime, drinking from your canteen, and getting up and continuing your game.
To sleep, you’ll want to either choose to sleep until daytime or sleep until nighttime. The difference between the two centers around your play strategy. For example, sleeping until nighttime is ideal for using stealth as you’ll be able to sneak around in the cover of darkness and turn off any lights you come across. Meanwhile, sleeping until daytime can be useful if you need added visibility to complete a mission. You’ll also encounter fewer enemies during the day.
Regardless of whether you choose to sleep until daytime or nighttime, resting in general is a great way to ensure your auto-save is updated before exiting the game. Additionally, sleeping allows you to heal yourself without having to use up a Medkit.
