How to Make Mushrooms Grow

Unfortunately, you can’t make muchrooms and plants grow to access hard to reach areas in Ni No Kuni 2 until you reach main story quest 3-4. Once you speak with Niall in the Forest of Niall, he will give you the Quicken Growth spell. This allows you to walk up to areas where there are small mushrooms or plants and cast the Quicken Growth spell to make these plants larger so you can use them to reach the area above.

You won’t be able to use Quicken Growth everywhere. You’ll know when you can use it because a little exclamation point icon will appear near these mushrooms and plants that you can cast the spell on. In many cases, making the mushrooms grow will lead you to a chest or a special area that was previously out of reach.

Before you get the Quicken Growth spell, you won’t be missing out on a great deal early in the game. Even if you forget to go back to the areas in Cloudcoil Canyon where you can use Quicken Growth, you won’t be missing out on anything of significance.
