With the release of Mortal Shell comes questions like how difficult it is and how long it’ll take to beat the game.

The answer to the question of how much time it’ll take you to beat Mortal Shell may come as something of a surprise, though it’ll vary based on how you play and how good you are at ‘Soulslike’ games.

How Long Does it Take to Beat Mortal Shell?

The quick answer to the question, “How long does it take to beat Mortal Shell?” is approximately 10 to 15 hours.

The exact amount of time it’ll take you to beat Mortal Shell will depend on things like how you play, what you’re looking to get out of the game, and how much you struggle against the game’s brutal bosses.

If you played the beta for Mortal Shell you’ll have something of an advantage as you’ll already be familiar with many of the game’s controls.

For example, you’ll know how to do things like beat the tutorial boss Hadern and parry enemies which will save you the time spent figuring these things out through trial and error.

Drawing from our experiences in the Mortal Shell beta, we were able to beat Mortal Shell in just under 11 hours.

We imagine that had we not played the beta, that completion time would’ve been closer to 12-13 hours.

If you want to take your time doing things like exploring each area and looking for collectibles like pieces of Lore you’re looking at a completion time of around 15 hours, if not more.

The game has a lot of interesting secrets that you may miss running straight through, so we definitely recommend taking your time!

Again, your completion time will vary but the overall average time to beat Mortal Shell runs anywhere from 10 to 15 hours. For most gamers it’ll take 12-13 hours, closer to 10 if you played the beta, and 15 or more for 100% completion.
