In Amazon games’ newest MMO New World, you’ll have to pick from a wide variety of weapons to find your favorite. If you’re a Musket user you know you’ll need Iron Cartridges in order to shoot the weapon. Here is how to get Saltpeter for crafting ammo.

How to Get Saltpeter In New World 

In order to get Saltpeter you’ll need to have a Flint Pickaxe or better, which is obtained by doing the early tutorial missions in your starting location. Once you have the pickaxe you’ll be able to mine boulders and different Ore. 

Saltpeter is another resource that can be mined and is mainly found within caves. Below we have some caves near the starting areas that house plenty of Saltpeter to mine. 

Windsward

  • Dankfur Hollow 
  • Inkwell Cave 
  • Scratchrock Burrow 

Monarch’s Bluff

  • Bayhowl Burrow
  • Hurlfang Hole 
  • Offal Grotto

These areas all have a pretty sizable amount of Saltpeter you’ll be able to mine. From there once you have the required ingredients to craft ammo, head over to a workshop to craft more ammo for your Musket
