How to Get More DIY Recipes In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

There are a few ways to get what you want when it comes to shiny new DIY recipes but you’re going to want to be familiar with your island! Since daily Nook Miles bonuses include talking to neighbors, that’s an easy one to tick off! Talk to everyone and eventually, those conversations will lead to sweet, sweet loot.

We’re also sure at some point during your island time you’ve heard the sound of wind wooshing. Look up, and that sound will be accompanied by a balloon flying by with a present attached. Sometimes these include already crafted items but they can also include DIY recipes as well, so shoot ’em if you’ve got ’em – just make sure to craft that slingshot first.

Rotating events will offer exclusive recipes

Like long walks on the beach? Good, because that’s another goldmine for DIY recipes! Walk along the coast of your abode and you’ll find sporadic clear bottles with a message hidden inside. These messages will include special DIY recipes that players can then use to craft new items to spruce up the place and attract more visitors!

Nook’s Cranny is also an easy and obvious choice. Go in and talk to the Nook brothers to sell or mosey on over to the back left and check out the cabinet. The cabinet offers flimsy tools, seeds, saplings, and more, but it also offers DIY recipes for players to buy, but they are usually incredibly basic and more advanced players will have no need for them any longer.

Special events are also an ongoing thing in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Just recently the game offered a Bunny Day Event to honor Easter as well as a Cherry Blossom event, both offered exclusive recipes. Though getting the recipes and materials needed is for a very limited time, the recipes themselves last forever, so hoard them while you can and stock up with everything needed to put a little additional flair to make that island truly pop.

The Resident’s Center is also a solid resource when hunting for DIY recipes! Talk to Nook and use the Nook Miles ATM to the right as soon as you walk into the center. You can redeem those hard-earned Nook Miles for exclusive items as well as nifty recipes to get those creative juices flowing.

And that’s it! That’s what you need to know about how to get more DIY recipes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! With the theory that Brewster is returning and the upcoming Earth Day event, there will be plenty of opportunities to score some sweet new DIY ideas while making those islands look fresh no matter what time of year it is! Just remember, pay those debts and complete those daily challenges for Nook Miles and you’ll already be a step ahead of the rest! Oh, and sell the crap out of some tarantulas!
