Animal Crossing: New Horizons Pascal – How to Find

To put it simply, players can find Pascal in Animal Crossing: New Horizons by catching a Scallop while diving in the water. You can find Scallops by diving at normal-sized shadows moving at a normal speed. The first time you come up with a Scallop every day, Pascal will appear asking you to trade your catch for a Mermaid DIY set and sometimes a Pearl. It’s worth noting that this is the only way to find Pascal in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

If you haven’t played the game in a while, you’re probably a bit confused. With the July summer update, Nintendo added in a new feature that allows players to swim and dive in the water, and with that added in a plethora of new deep-sea creatures. However, before they can dive for the new critters, they’ll need to purchase a wetsuit. With the wetsuit in hand, players can head to the water and press A to go get in. As they swim around the ocean, they can dive by pressing Y. If a player dives at a shadow, they’ll come up with one of the new deep-sea creatures.

Long time fans of the series probably know that Pascal is not a new character in the franchise. The friendly otter has appeared in a handful of other Animal Crossing games like New Leaf, Wild World, Pocket Camp, and City Folk. It’s nice to see a familiar face from the series making a return in New Horizons, and it looks like our otter friend is going to be around for a while! Further, with Nintendo teasing an update for August as well, it’s possible we could see some other familiar faces as well.

If you’re not a fan of hunting for Scallops or have already talked with Pascal today, there are still plenty of other things that players can do on their island.
