Disney Dreamlight Valley Energy and Exhaustion Guide

Energy is a mechanic that allows you to perform a limited number of tasks before recovering. While picking food from trees or bushes doesn’t consume energy, others, such as mining, digging and clearing Night Thorns, will drain it.

As you level up, you’ll gain permanent boosts to your energy reserves, requiring more effort to exhaust yourself. Until then, you’ll become exhausted when you completely deplete the bright blue energy bar in the top-left corner of your screen. Once you reach this point, you’ll have to refill your energy before progressing further. Thankfully, there are two main ways to recover energy in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

The first way is by entering your house. Once you walk into your home, you’ll immediately regain your energy, allowing you to continue working with little issues. However, this also means you have to stop whatever you’re doing and head back home, which may be a slight hindrance depending on where you are currently.

The second method of eating food is a viable alternative in this situation. You can eat consumables to regain energy if you don’t feel like going all the way back home.

To eat food, head into your inventory and select an item such as an apple, raspberries or a carrot. From here, you’ll see how much energy the food regenerates, letting you decide if you want to eat it or forage for more. If you don’t have any food in your inventory, you’ll have to pick some more or head home!

How to Expand Your Energy Reserve and Increase Your Max Energy

Your energy reserves will expand as you level up and strengthen your friendships with the various Disney characters in the game. This expansion means that your max energy will increase, allowing you to perform more actions at a time before replenishing your energy again. While the difference isn’t massive early on, you’ll start to see a considerable increase as you level up and progress through the game.
