by Jesse Vitelli

The new season of Fortnite has arrived and with it comes a bevy of new cosmetics, points of interest, and challenges for the player to complete. There is a whole new crafting system added to the game. So here’s how to craft weapons in Fortnite Season 6.

How to Craft Weapons in Fortnite Season 6

Primal Weapons

In order to craft weapons, you’ll need some new materials that can be found around the map. If you’re making a primal version of the weapon you’ll need to gather Animal Bones, which can be gathered by killing wolves, boar, and frogs around the map.

Classic Weapons

If you want to craft the traditional version of the weapon that you’ve been familiar with from previous seasons you’re going to need mechanical parts. These can be gathered by breaking down trailers, tractors, and cars with your pickaxe.

How to Upgrade

Each tier of weapon will require more of the previously mentioned material. So for instance upgrading from a grey weapon to a blue will cost 5 of your chosen material. However, upgrading it from blue to purple will cost more.

Now that you have the required materials how do you actually craft the upgrade? Well, it’s actually pretty simple. Simply open up your inventory menu (Up on the D-pad for the controller and the Tab key on PC) and then move our cursor over the item you want to upgrade.

These items will be marked with a gold hammer icon above them to let players know that these weapons are upgradable.

Click R1 on the weapon to pull up the upgrade options and it will then ask for either the Animal Bones or Mechanical Parts. Click on the one you want and your item will upgrade.
