There are a lot of creatures you can find and catch in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Walking Sticks is one of the trickier ones to catch. However, you need to have it in order to continue completing the Blathers’ collections. In this guide, we are going to show you how to catch a Walking Stick as well as when to find them and how much they are worth.

When, Where, How

To catch a Walking Stick in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players will need to search around different trees on their island from either 4 AM-8 AM or 5 PM-7 PM local time. Further, players in the Northern Hemisphere can find this camouflage bug from July-October, while those in the Southern Hemisphere can find it January-May.

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Walking Stick is only worth 600 Bells and is certainly not one of the more valuable creatures in the game. However, if you’re trying to help Blathers complete his bug collection, then you’ll need to grab at least one and give it to him before they leave your island.

You’ll find Walking Sticks sitting on trees during the times mentioned above. To catch one, simply sneak up to it with your net in hand and ready to swing. When you get close enough, release your net and you’ll be able to catch it. If you miss or make too much noise, you’ll likely scare it away and will have to find another.

Similar to the Walking Stick, one of the more common creatures is the Cicada Shell, which you may have noticed attached to trees. Another one is Grasshoppers, which have begun appearing all over the place recently.

Further, thanks to the new swimming and diving update, players can now catch a plethora of underwater creatures to help out Blathers and earn some Mermaid DIY recipes.
