How to Get Bluegleam Quickly

Finding Bluegleam can be tough, especially in a world as large and open-ended as the world in Horizon Zero Dawn. Luckily the new currency is only available in the Cut, which means you can pretty much ignore the other 90% of the map when you’re looking to stock up on this rare currency. If you’re just out exploring, then the best way to look for Bluegleam is to make use of Aloy’s Focus. This useful item provides a scanning ability that can let you pick up on nearby resources, enemies, and even Bluegleam nodes. Bluegleam also tends to be found in groups, so that should make it easier to spot as well.

Bluegleam isn’t a natural resource, though, and you’ll only find it on the corpses of machines that have long been dead and frozen over in the snowy chills of the Cut. So, look out for machine corpses, as they might sometimes hold Bluegleam for you to pick up and add to your collection.

Good Bluegleam Farming Spots

Now that you know how to spot Bluegleam, let’s go over some good spots that we’ve found to farm for Bluegleam. Keep in mind, these spots may be tough to get to at first, so make sure you’re well prepared for any enemies that you might come across while exploring the map. Don’t have the full map unlocked? Check out our guide on how to repair the Tallneck to find out how to unlock all the map data for the Cut.

Bluegleam Farming Spot #1

The first spot that we’d recommend checking out is just south of the Greycatch dam. If you follow the river down, and then head northwest from the campfire with the special merchant, you should come across several Bluegleam grouped up together in the snow. Grab them all to add them to your collection.

Bluegleam Farming Spot #2

The second spot we’d suggest checking out is north of the area where you find the Tallneck in The Frozen Wilds. This group of Bluegleam is located up the mountain a little, though, so you’ll need to do some platforming if you hope to make it all the way up to the top.
