How to Solve the Central Hall Puzzle Door in Hogwarts Legacy

You’ll find this Puzzle Door in the Central Hall in the Library Annex. Once there, walk southwest down a small staircase, and the door will be on your right next to a large metal door. There are 10 symbols arched around the doorway, with two puzzles in the middle, consisting of numbers, symbols, and question marks on the Puzzle Door itself.

To solve the Puzzle Door, you must complete the two puzzles by flicking two nearby question mark switches to the right symbols, which you figure out by adding up the symbols on the archway and the door itself to make the numbers in the middle. Bear with us; we know it’s complicated.

  • 3 – Runespoor
  • 4 – Owl
  • 5 – Quintaped
  • 6 – Salamander
  • 7 – Squid
  • 8 – Spider
  • 9 – Snakes

How to Solve the Central Hall ? Puzzle in Hogwarts Legacy

The first puzzle on the Central Hall Puzzle Door must add up to 21, as shown by the large number in the middle. You’ll notice that there’s the number 11 next to it, meaning you must figure out what the dragon symbol above it and the question mark to the right mean.

Starting with the Dragon symbol, count the archway symbols from left to right to find the number it represents. In this case, two. Add the two to the 11 to get 13 – now, how do you get from 13 to 21? Add eight, which means you’ll need to find the question mark switch and make it display the symbol for eight, which is the Spider. The switch is just to the left of the Puzzle Door, so roll it until it shows the Spider.

For the second puzzle, the symbols must add up to 17. The two symbols outside it – the Snakes and the Quintaped – make 14, meaning you need to change the double question mark switch to display the Runespoor (three). To find the switch, walk back up the small stairs and then up the stairs to the left, where you’ll spot it on the back wall.
