Halo Infinite’s fifth season is, as of the literal minute I’m writing this, upon us. With it comes a lot of changes, additions, quality of life improvements, and more. But for now, I’d like to take a look at the brand new Battle Pass, what’s been changed, and how some goodies you’ll unlock have been made even more versatile.
Halo Infinite Season 5 Battle Pass – 50 Tiers, No Fluff
The most immediate change is that the pass has been sliced in half, from 100 tiers to just 50. What this doesn’t mean is that the rewards have been reduced – there are just as many items to unlock, but redundant tiers, like duplicate icons or shoulder pads split across two tiers, have been axed.
The Season 5 Battle Pass will still reward the 1,000 credits used to purchase the premium pass (rewarded at a pace of 200 credits across five tiers). Furthermore, the free rewards are bunched up in the first 20 tiers. This means free players won’t be left waiting around for rewards if they choose to hold off on purchasing the premium pass.
Cross Core Helmets and Armor Coatings
As of Season 5, all helmets are cross core, meaning any helmet can be used on any core. This is one of the most common community requests, so it’s a pretty big layup for 343 to expand on the previously restrictive customization options.
As an added bonus, all armor coatings earned from Season 5 onward will be cross core. This, unfortunately, doesn’t retroactively apply to coatings already in the game, but it does mark a good step in the right direction going forward.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to get this heavily-condensed battle pass completed so I can finally go back and finish all the ones that piled up while I was away. If you’re also excited for Season 5, check out the PvE goodies we’re getting this season as well!
