If you’re someone who’s looking for a little more to do in Greedfall than to romance the hottest sailors around, then you might fancy a crack at Arena. This particular mode in Spiders’ lastest RPG is absolutely obsessed with combat. You’ll have to battle your way through waves of enemies, and each encounter only gets harder. Check out our Greedfall Arena guide for tips on how to enter, and what you can get.
Greedfall Arena Guide – Unlocking the Coin Arena
Dig around for something to do in New Serene and you won’t have to look far at all to stumble upon the Coin Arena. Up to your arms in trouble and wanting to get into more of it? Then you’ll have happened upon the right place. To find the Coin Arena, wander through town and take in the sights until hit the Coin Tavern.
Once you’re inside this establishment, strike up a conversation with the local bartender and make sure to ask about what happens in the basement. As shady as it sounds, you’ll be assured by the Barkeep that this is actually a money-making endeavor. However, to be in it to win it, you’re going to have to have some skin in the game first. Pay the 25 gold entry fee and you’ll find yourself ushered down into the infamous Coin Arena.
Here, you’ll have to fight your way through waves of enemies as part of challenges. Each challenge has 5 rounds, which will put you against different opponents. You’ll benefit from healing in-between each battle, but being successful just means that the game will bump up the difficulty with the next foe.
If you make mincemeat of your enemies over the course of 15 back to back wins in fights, and you’ll be greeted with Nadaig Menaeimen. This bad boy is superior to you essentially in almost every way – we’re talking base armor values, health pool, and general strength. However, if you’re smart about getting out of the way in time and playing defensively, you’ll be able to take him down. Even if you can’t, the Greedfall Arena is a valuable place to grind out experience – defeating all your enemies nets you 1000 EXP in the end regardless. Take down Nadaig and you’ll also have a two-handed sword which you need 5 Agility and Two-Handed Weapon proficiency to exploit.
Now that you’ve got our Greedfall Arena guide in hand, unlocking and making the most of the grunts in the Coin Arena will be no trouble for you at all. If you’re having trouble classing up your team, then this is as good a place as any to boost their skills if you’re no stranger to repetition.
